4-H Offered Sewing Levels:
Sewing Expressions 1: Youth will develop their fashion sense and the
skills needed to create a unique style of their own.
Sewing Expressions 2: Youth learn more about fashion and thier unique
style as well as technology in sewing and careers in the textile industry.
Sewing Expressions 3: Youth practice the basics of sewing construction
and how to make clothing or accessory pieces.
We recommend members take Expressions Level 1 for at least two years before moving up to level 2.
Additional 4-H project options, not taught in our county-wide project:
Buying Clothes - Level 1 Clothing and textile consumer skills are
emphasized in this level. Members will gain confidence in appearance and
in their ability to select accessories and care for clothing. They will also
learn more about how clothing affects them, their feelings toward others, and
how people react to their clothing and personal appearance.
Buying Clothes - Level 2 This level helps youths become wiser consumers.
Members develop basic skills in planning clothing purchases, buying garments and
accessories and caring for fabric articles. They also learn to develop good posture and grooming habits. (Not taught in the county-wide project)
2010 Meeting Dates: Sat. Jan. 30; Sun, Feb. 28; Sat. Mar. 27; Sat. Apr. 10; Sun. Apr. 18; Sat. Jun 5 1:30-4:30PM
All meetings will be held at the Extension Office on Hwy UU, unless otherwise noted.
All members must have a Basic Sewing Kit with contents marked for easy identification.
Feb 28 meeting: Please Arrive at 1:15 for set up, the
meeting will start at 1:30. We will be making purses from men's neck ties. I will have some extra ties for those who don't have any.

Fashion Review: All members are encouraged to participate in this event that occurs in July.
