2015 Meeting Info...

The first Outdoor Shotgun Meeting at Prairie Grove Shotgun Sports (1420 County Road 276 Columbia, MO 65202) will be April 12, 2015 at 2:00pm.  Please bring eye and ear protection, shell pouch and your logbook and health form. If you have not been given your logbook and health form, we will have them. If you are bringing a shotgun, it will need to be in a case. If you need a shotgun, please let James Walls jwalls@philipscedcol.com know. Shells can be purchased at the gun club if you need shells. You are responsible for your own trap fees.

The first Archery Meeting will be on Wed, March 18, at 6:30pm at the Extension Office on Hwy UU. This meeting is only for those who are first year members or those who want a refresher before we begin shooting meetings (once the weather gets warmer).

The more advanced archery kids are welcome to join us as we would love for them to provide demonstrations of their knowledge of archery (counts as a 4H demo)… just let us know what you would like to Demo (examples: scoring targets, parts of a bow/arrow, range commands, how to make your own bow stand or quiver, possible fair projects, etc.)

Members attending should bring any equipment you own, like bows in cases, quivers, arm guards, etc. (but not arrows). We will have an equipment check at the end of the meeting. At this meeting we also will determine what our equipment needs are for those who need to use County owned equipment. We have a small supply of county owned equipment that we can share if there is a need.

Also, bring your shooting sports project record available on the RB4H Website (see below). Please bring these forms with you to ALL meetings. You will need the project form completed and it must be attached to enroll in the County Fair Contest this year. I believe the Extension Office will provide you with the necessary documentation for your health form so you can keep it in your shooting sports folders (you will need one if you don’t have one already). You must have these forms or you will not be allowed to shoot when we begin live fire.

The first Rifle (small bore and air) meeting of 2015 will be held on Wed. March 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Extension Office on Hwy UU. This is an introductory meeting for first year rifle kids (those who have not previously been in the project), or for anyone who would like a refresher before our shooting season begins (when it gets warmer and we can be outside).

This will be an informational meeting with equipment check. If this is your first year you should bring your cased firearms, but no ammunition. If you do not have equipment that is okay. At these meetings we will determine what our equipment needs are for those who need to use County owned equipment. We have a small supply of county owned equipment that we can share if need be.
